A Planning application (20190827 press here to see application) has been received by Broadland District Council for the development of land adjacent to Marsh Road, Squires Road and Chapel Road, Halvergate.  This land falls within the Halvergate Conservation Area and for this reason several villagers have expressed the opinion that these planning proposals should be discussed at an open meeting.  The Parish Council therefore give notice that such a meeting will be held at the Playing Field Pavilion on Tuesday 25th June at 7.00pm.

The sole purpose of this Open Meeting will be to allow villagers to express their support for, or opposition to, these plans or simply to learn more about them in order that they can reach a more informed opinion as to the suitability of this development.

Although the initial deadline for the submission of representations to Broadland District Council was 20th June, this has been extended to Friday 28th June in order to allow those attending this meeting the opportunity to make such representations in time.

Can you help...

The Parish Council are in discussions with the Highways Department at Norfolk County Council with regard to the width of Wickhampton Road between the Dawdy's Court development and the Playingfield. It is well known that the road has been wider in the past but we do not have evidence of the fact. If you have any photographs of that road in days gone by or any other suitable documents could you email Jess using the Parish Councillors section of the website. Any evidence we can gather can only help with the Parish Councils efforts to make the road safer.
